An International Conference on Interfaith Dialogue towards Global Peace at the Peace Embassy in Brussels, Belgium, unanimously passed a resolution entitled "Brussels Peace Declaration on Religious Coexistence" on December 1, 2007.

The numerous serious attacks included GHQ and targeting killing of senior military officers also.

This decision was taken in a Awards Committee meeting presided by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Muhammad Tahir Tabassum last night. The Peace Awards will be given to these following personalities on their life long achievements.
The Eminent Belgium EU based NGO Institute of Peace and Development (INSPAD) celebrated International Day of Peace at Gujranwala Pakistan, in the occasion gathering take on minute silence at 12 am and promised to fellow the UN mechanism system to work for peace and harmony in the country. The meeting was presided by INSPAD Chief Executive Officer and Ambassador for Peace Mr. Muhammad Tahir Tabassum. Chief Guest was Former Minister and member Azad Kashmir Assembly Chaudhry Muhammad Ismail, INSPAD Director Sardar Irfan Tahir and Chaudhry Khalid Mahmood also speak in the meeting.

The dream for peace cannot be realized without social justice. The causes of religious extremism, terrorism and suicide bombing attacks have to be searched from within. The religion of Islam preaches peace, welfare, tolerance, forgiveness and pardon. People indulging in ruthless killings of innocent lives through suicide bombing attacks and worst kind of terrorism could not be linked to Islam. The suicide attack at the Marriot Hotel is a shame for humanity. These views were expressed by Syed Zia Rizvi former Assistant Secretary General United Nations and Director General Independent Bureau for Humanitarian Issues New York and Sardar Muhammad Tahir Tabassum Executive Director Institute of Peace and Development (INSPAD) Islamabad, during the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between the two NGOs on the occasion of UN International Day of Peace here.
Former Speaker of the Azad Kashmir Assembly Sardar Siab Khalid Advocate has said that efforts for establishing peace cannot bear fruit without solving the Kashmir and Palestine problems. There is need for developing a strategy for removing the increasing tension between various civilizations and cultures. Due to the Kashmir Dispute the dangers of a nuclear war are looming large over South Asia. By solving the Kashmir Dispute means for peace and development in the region could be achieved. To highlight the social and cultural traditions of Pakistan and to focus on promoting goodwill amongst the various cultural communities in Brussels, a colourful cultural programme “Lahore” was organized with great fanfare and enthusiasm at the Molen Beeck Cultural Centre Brussels for the first time under official patronage. Various cultural items, traditional folklore dresses from the four provinces of Pakistan and Kashmir were put on display. Stalls for various traditional eatables including delicious Dehi Bhale, Fruit Chat, Samosas, Channey Chat, Pakoras and Chicken rost were arranged. Besides, a stall for putting “Mehndi” on the ladies hands and feet was also arranged.

The conference decided to establish a Permanent Committee for Inter-faith cooperation, comprising religious scholar’s representatives of different Faiths and Communities, NGOs and media. In the conference discussed an important serious inter-faith harmony, conflict resolution combating extremism, intolerance, hatred and violence in the name of religion.
Two renowned NGO’s Universal Peace federation and Institute of Peace & Development (INSPAD) Belgium visited a Muslim mosque in Molenbeek and told that Inter-faith dialogue is the need of the time. All religions and faith must have followed the principals to fulfill for Peace, Unity, Understanding and religious co-existence for the removal of all differences violence and fundamentalism. We have to search out the common ways for peaceful atmosphere in the society. All religions and communities should live as unified family.The NGO’s officials Mr. Philippe Jacques, Mr.Hugo Veraxc of UPF and Mr. Amin ul Haq,Tahir Tabassum and Sardar Javaid Sarwer of INSPAD said that we must adopt peaceful& acceptable policies instead of raising religious controversial issues.

It is a rare opportunity. I am grateful.On this important occasion I would like to offer a word of profound gratitude to the august European Parliament, its members and the entire European community on behalf of the people and politico-humanitarian institutions of Jammu and Kashmir for arranging this Kashmir discourse on yearly basis. It vividly reminds the people of Kashmir of European Union’s voluntary undertaking to seek out a peaceful solution of Kashmir dispute.
The Britain and Pakistani NGOs decided to work together to promote peaceful religious coexistence, human rights and fundamental freedom, which is essential in combating extremism, intolerance, hatred and violence. The civil society can play vital role in creating awareness about inter-faith and inter-cultural dialogue and respect of law in the society, as well as the role of religious and spiritual educational institutions in promoting tolerance, mutual respect and brotherhood as part of all religions and civilization. It’s decided in a meeting between Britain NGO Council for Christians and Muslims Relations High Wycombe’s Chairperson Professor Chauhdry M.Shafique, and Pakistani Belgian prominent NGO Institute of Peace and Development (INSPAD) Executive Director Sardar Muhammad Tahir Tabassum at Islamabad. Raja Ijaz Dilawar Mirpur and INSPAD Directors Mr. Asad Ahsan and Sardar Irfan Tahir were also present on the occasion. Islamabad December 6, 2009 Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haidar Khan said that Peace impossible without resolution of Kashmir and Palestine in the world. Both territories people had many sacrifices for right to self-determination. The people of Pakistan and Kashmir will continue support to self-determination. United Nations must implement the resolutions on Kashmir and Palestine. War is not a solution of any conflict; we have to continue the dialogue on all these conflicts. If world want peace then needs to solve the political conflicts on principle and justice. Brussels 11.06.2007 Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan said that conceptually peace at the regional, continental, global and at institutional level is worth of high value. For individuals to nation’s peace in the dire need. All of us subscribe to this truth. But at the same time I believe that the forces of peace everywhere must be strong enough that no disturbance to peace occurs. It is utterly an ideal vision. Peace in the World not possible without solution of Kashmir and Palestine Conflicts. He expressed his views in a letter to famous NGO Institute of Peace and Development (INSPAD) Belgium’s Chief Executive Officer Mr. Tahir Tabassum Muhammad. He said that the human phenomenon on ground speaks otherwise. However, human endeavors to strengthen peace moves and peace institutions must continue at all levels. He said Kashmir is an alarming nuclear flame for whole world peace. United Nations, European Union, Organization of Islamic Conference and other global influential institutions must try to stop Human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir. He said that my priority is rehabilitation and reconstruction of Earth Quake areas of Azad Kashmir. He appreciated the role and working of international NGO’s in Azad Kashmir during Earth quake and some still helping to remote areas here.
