7. Short statement about the nature and mission of the NGO INSPAD.
Institute of Peace and Development (INSPAD) is working in Belgium as Asbl and incorporated NGO in Pakistan since 1995. The motivation force behind the inception of INSPAD is that being a ’Think Tank’ the need was felt to inculcate the spirit of unity and awareness among the community and bring them together on a common platform, and also need to promote and educate for peace-Building, human and women rights, tolerance, good governance, socio-economic development and inter-faith & inter-cultural dialogue for religious coexistence and combating racism, poverty, discrimination and injustice. And to establish a ‘Centre of Excellence for Peace Initiative’ (CEPI) to resolve the political, social, religious and cultural conflicts. INSPAD have a mission to promote UN machines and other human rights treaties.
United Nations is a great hope and inspiration for third world and poor countries. We have a mission to campaign for a tension free and peaceful atmosphere in the society with guidance, support and cooperation of United Nations. That’s why we are applying to join ECOSOC.

Preparing and producing Books, Journal Research Papers, Articles and Pamphlets for bringing about a change and awareness in the society.

A Famous European NGO Institute of Peace and Development (INSPAD) Board of Directors have decided unanimously “Peace Awards 2008” to well renowned global personalities, whose are performed extraordinary services in various fields of life. This decision was taken in an Awards Committee meeting presided by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Muhammad Tahir Tabassum. INSPAD AT A GLANCE
• Institute of Peace and Development (INSPAD) is actively working since 1995 in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir as a Society of non-governmental organization, a think tank as well as and as ASBL in European Union capital Brussels Belgium with National Registration No. 882-569-148 since 2005.
• To organize seminars, conferences and roundtable talks on regional, national and International level about peaceful resolution of Kashmir, Palestine human rights, social and cultural rights and socio-economic development.
• To raise awareness of global conflicts, humanitarian issues, higher, skilled and technical education.
• To work for Inter-faith and Inter-cultural dialogue, harmony and religious coexistence, avoiding clashes through discussion and available media sources.
• To publish reports, articles and pamphlets on sensitive and important issues.
• We had organized four regional Europeans conferences, seminars at Brussels (Belgium) about Inter-faith dialogues, Peaceful religious coexistence, integration of refugees and humanitarian issues and three International conferences, first Leadership Conference on Dialogue for Peaceful Coexistence on 1st of August 2008 in Islamabad (Pakistan) second in Brussels on 1st December 2007 and third International Kashmir Seminar on peaceful resolution of Kashmir on 02nd of January 2005 at Mirpur (Azad Kashmir).
• We had participated in global importance conferences, seminars and rallies in North America, South Asia, Gulf, and Middle East and also in European countries from time to time.
Future Plans
• INSPAD have a plan to start, organize campaign of awareness for Peaceful religious coexistence and Inter-religious dialogues between all faiths, sects and cultures, victims of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and intolerance.
• Education and protection aimed at the eradication of racism, and to educate the people for Peace, Human rights; Harmony and against racism.
• Lobbying to gain support for important objectives and the missions with an option for global expansion.
• Strategies to achieve and maintain cooperation and enhancement of other worldwide inter-governmental and non-governmental organizations.
PROJECTS IN FUTURE
• INSPAD will organize global and regional level conferences, seminars and dialogue on Inter-faith & religious harmony and freedom of speech.
• Will organize symposium and meetings for cultural and heritage initiatives, women violence, gender equality and youth participation, music and entertainments.
• Will organize roundtable conferences and seminars for right to self -determination for people of Jammu & Kashmir, Palestine and other conflicts to bring them together on a common platform, to be able to coexist in a peaceful environment, through peace initiative.
• Plan to prepare and produce books, articles, pamphlets and research reports,
and to start a monthly newsletter “Peace Initiative” in various languages.
• We have a program to organize lectures and debates on important national, regional and global issues.
• Institute will establish a “Centre of Excellence for Peace Initiative” at Brussels, Islamabad, Muzaffarabad and other places.
• INSPAD will create public awareness campaign about disaster Earth quake of October 8, 2006, and its rehabilitation and reconstruction of Kashmir and NWFP.
• We will recognize services in all important fields as such present European recognized “Peace Awards” and other merit certifications to renowned global personalities on extraordinary achievements and lifelong services since 2005.
